Outside my Window …
It is beautiful.

I am thinking…
Of my next sewing projects

I am thankful…
For my little sewing room (even if it does have the basement pump and water pipes running through it).

In the kitchen…
There is a BIG mess.

I am wearing…
Jeans, a cami, a shirt my mama got me.

I am creating…
Lots of clothes for the kids.

I am going…
To take Lexie to violin in about 40 minutes.

I am wondering…
Why my babies are growing so fast?!

I am reading…
sewing patterns

I am hoping…
to complete another dress in the next week or two.

I am looking forward to…
Ila’s tooth finally coming in!

I am learning…
Lots of new sewing techniques!

Around the house…
Everything is a WRECK!  The dog has strowed her toys’ stuffing all over the place, Max has littered the downstairs with pretend food, and the couch is covered in laundry that I don’t want to fold.

I am pondering…
How many days I need to workout this week to hit my number of hours goal (so far, I have overslept every morning this week).

A favorite quote for today…

Sewing Forever

The above sums up my past 2 weeks.
One of my favorite things…
Sewing.  And my new sewing machine (that is very old), and my serger, because finished seams rolled hems make me happy and are relaxing to look at.  And my embroidery machine so I can

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Sew another dress for Lexie and make another crab shirt for Mister … because for some strange reason he is obsessed with the one he has that is much too small and stained beyond help.

A peek into my day…

Completed Rouched Ruffle Twirl Dress

Lady got woke up to her twirl dress and is IN LOVE. Hasn’t taken it off all day.

Outside my Window …
It is SUNNY and warm!

I am thinking…
I need to be on the treadmill.

I am thankful…
for THE SUN!

In the kitchen…
I should be thawing meat for dinner tonight.  But I forgot until just this minute.  Tonight is everyone’s (but me) favorite- spaghetti.

I am wearing…
Yoga pants (that didn’t fit a month ago), nursing tank, nursing shirt, and sweat shirt.

I am creating…
A PRECIOUS dress for Lexie.  I cannot wait to get it done!

I am going…
to run on the treadmill after this post is done.

I am wondering…
Why my 4 year old just came in my room and asked, “In a moment, may I take Caroline (her AG doll) downstairs?”  … as she waits for my response … “I shall, mama.”  WHAT?!

I am reading…
Nothing right now.  I am still working on the list from last week.

I am hoping…
I drop 2-3 more pounds of baby weight this week, but it isn’t looking to promising.

I am looking forward to…
This afternoon- sunshine and in the 40’s!  Aaah Vitamin D!

I am learning…
That teething babies really do have it hard. =(

Around the house…
Not much is happening today.

I am pondering…
If Ila’s amber teething necklace will get here today? … I sure hope so.  She does not feel good thanks to those icky teeth.  =*(

A favorite quote for today…
“Drinking water is like washing out your insides. The water will cleanse the system, fill you up, decrease your caloric load and improve the function of all your tissues.”-  Kevin R. Stone
One of my favorite things…
Is drinking water.  I LOVE water.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Finish up homeschool this week, print off and plan next week’s material, play outside … wash diapers and maybe even line dry them!  Did I mention I love the sun?!

Monday January 5, 2015

Outside my Window …
It is gray and snowy again.  And today it is windy.  We’ve had more snow since last week.

I am thinking…
*I wish I could nail down Ila’s optimal wake time length*  There just aren’t sleepy cues at this age.  Oh- and wonder week 14-19 IS AWFUL.

I am thankful…
For my treadmill.  Because that means I don’t have to try to find someone to keep the kids so I can go workout, I don’t have to pay a bunch of money every month for the one place in town that has child care while I workout, and I don’t have to brave the cold to get in some exercise.

In the kitchen…
It is dark and quiet; I am making the kids pizza for dinner, and a protein shake for myself.

I am wearing…
My heart rate monitor; trying to keep me motivated to eat fewer calories that I burn.  Yoga pants, a t-shirt from my daddy’s work, and my one of my husband’s long sleeve shirts over that.

I am creating…
A calorie deficit, I hope.

I am going…
To sleep so good tonight.

I am wondering…
If I will hit my goal of -2lbs a week.

I am reading…
All the same books from last week.
Honey for a Child’s Heart– a dear friend brought it over the other day and it is great.
A Mom After God’s Own Heart Devotional– a devotional to get me through these hard days of little people emotions and tantrums =)
The Power of a Positive Mom
Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids

I am hoping…
For a great week with the children.

I am looking forward to…
A trip we are taking with all of my husband’s family later in the spring/summer.  It is something we never considered doing, so it will be a change for us.

I am learning…
That I am a snacker.  I have never been a snacker, but I think about a year ago I became one.  Just mindlessly snacking on grapes, bananas ..  now I am trying to replace that with water and hot tea. *calorie deficit*

Around the house…
It is mostly picked up, quiet, dark, calm, and quiet.

I am pondering…
How things in life change so quickly.  Sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

A favorite quote for today…
“Mommy, I not cut my wittle baby fingews.  I not”- Mister on using scissors.

One of my favorite things…
Watching these tiny humans grow and learn.  I wouldn’t trade these days of chaos for anything.  =)

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Write some blog posts, continue with my food and exercise goals, start sewing a dress for Lexie, start researching for our trip in May.

A peek into my day…
Just imagine: a mama, a strong willed type A 4 year old girl, a wild bear of a two year old boy, and a sweet little Miss (4 months this week) playing, reading, learning, snuggling, eating, and being merry.  =)

First Simple Woman’s Daybook post

Outside my Window …
There is snow on the ground and a gray sky; it looks like more snow.  It has been so cold out the last few weeks, but we aren’t complaining because we have had a very mild fall and winter this far.

I am thinking…
I’m so excited my husband surprised us & came home early from work travel for the weekend.  I need to finish this up so I can get in a workout before baby wakes.  I am starving, but my coffee is good and I don’t want to make anything for my breakfast.

I am thankful…
For a warm home, sweet babies that love Jesus, and my handsome husband (who has his whiskers grown out for me, and I LOVE IT!)

In the kitchen…
There is a dishwasher full of clean dishes (usually emptied first thing in the morning), 25 POUNDS of organic carrots (what was I thinking?!), 20 pounds of organic apples (yum!), and a jar of my friend’s kraut fermenting on the counter (another YUM!).

I am wearing…
A flannel granny nightgown.  Literally.  It is a nightgown like Grannies wear, and my Granny bought it for me, and I am pretty sure said Granny has the same one.  =)

I am creating…
I am working on knitting a scarf, sewing some dresses for my daughter, and contemplating making some more pajama pants for my son.

I am going…
To stay in my gown all day, cook a roast with veggies, and drink some more coffee.

I am wondering…
Why the baby keeps fussing, but goes back to sleep. Maybe because she didn’t eat well this morning.  Hrm.

I am reading…
Honey for a Child’s Heart– a dear friend brought it over the other day and it is great.
A Mom After God’s Own Heart Devotional– a devotional to get me through these hard days of little people emotions and tantrums =)
The Power of a Positive Mom
Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids

I am hoping…
Ila will sleep good for her naps today (we are adjusting to a 4 hour schedule; some days are perfect, some not so much).

I am looking forward to…
This weekend with our family. Losing all this baby weight (technically from my second child) so I can get back to feeling like ME again.  And also tomorrow’s episode of Downton Abbey.  I don’t watch much t.v. but I do love some Downton.

I am learning…
How to heal my diastasis recti. I just started using Fit2B (a website that specifically focuses on healing DR and strengthening the core-not the abs- and I love it so far).

Around the house…
Things are relatively picked up, but dusty. I don’t like dusting.

I am pondering…
Why smoke keeps bees calm? (it is on Ask This Old House) That is strange .. and who discovered smoke keeps them from going crazy? hmm …  More Google.

A favorite quote for today…
{Never Explain Anything}
One of my favorite things…
Mary Poppins.  I love Mary Poppins the movie, the songs, the characters in the movie.  And I love even more that my 2 year old son can do all the steps to Stepping Time, including jumping off the bench and going straight into a forward roll like Bert on the roof tops.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Do a little sewing, write a few blog posts, get all my workouts in, JUST SAY NO TO SUGAR.  Stick to our homeschool schedule.

A peek into my day…
My babies snuggling their daddy, watching “working shows” on PBS (Woodwright’s Workshop, This old House, P. Allen Smith, Martha Cooks, America’s Test Kitchen, etc.) It is our winter Saturday routine.
