So, I keep moving her out of my ribs and she just kicks and flips until she gets right back. It is quite painful. 30 weeks Monday, 10 weeks to go and with my luck I will go over 40 weeks with the first baby. I sure wish she would come about 2-3 weeks early though. That would sure be nice.
This weekend with mom has been crazy! Our bank account is probably hyperventilating… and for good reason. But, I got the nursery completely furnished, mirror, curtains and all! I did not realize what a big deal a mattress is. If it is not firm enough, it will cave in as they get older and since her bed converts to a toddler bed too, I wanted a mattress that would last.
So, here are some pics of the nursery now. They are not very good pictures and don’t really do it justice. Of course it is still pretty empty. I need a few more things for the book shelf, the changing pad for the dresser, and of course all the other baby necessities that go in a nursery. Whenever we get them all in (probably after the showers) it will be just perfect! Mom also caved and let me have the bedding now so we could get it on the bed. Of course it will all have to be washed and everything again before Lexie Raye gets here, but it is still fun to have it in the room.
Here is the lamp and picture from my mother in law,
known to the grandbabies as Gwennie. I have the curtains and rods for the windows, but we are leaving the hanging of the curtain rods to J so we don’t ruin the sheet rock…
This is the bookshelf that also came from Gwennie’s house. My mom got the picture frames for Lexie, the bottom one is a frame that says “Grandma” so that Lexie knows who she is. (She has this fear that the baby won’t know her because she doesn’t live here…)
We got the super cute bookend at TJ (of course) and the books are some I had for teaching school that are necessary for all little ones, but I need to start getting board books for her.
Here we have Lexie’s piggie bank! haha We found this at Target and had to have it. I think am hoping she takes after her cousin Emily and learns to put her daddy’s money in here. =)
This is the bedding in her crib above, and the diaper stacker to the right. It is really sweet. I bought our first diapers this weekend, Huggies for newborns, because that is what I had coupons for. But I will be buying pampers too, I am sure. I have heard both are good. Anyways, it looks really good in there.
Below is the mirror we found at Kirkland’s. I think I am going to get some ribbon and/or tulle and mom is going to try to create a big bow to go above it… we’re not sure yet.
Looking good!!! I really like the piggy bank:-)
This was so much fun! I can not wait til Lexie Raye sees it. Her mom, Gwenie and Mia have worked hard.
