This fall I have been reading so many great new books to my children. One of our favorites has been God’s Great Love for You, written by #1 New York Times bestselling author and respected pastor Rick Warren. His other work includes The Purpose Driven Life, which so many of us are familiar with.

This beautiful children’s book will take your child on a beautiful and whimsical journey through the world, teaching that wherever they go, no matter what kind of day they’re having, God’s love is with them.
Ya’ll, these illustrations, by Chris Saunders, are beyond breathtaking! They envelop all that Rick Warren has written in the simple yet poignant text, and you are sure to find each page striking. Our favorite part of the illustrations has been following a ribbon, or streamer, representing God’s love, throughout the pages. Hidden in plain sight, we find it is always with the child, no matter where she goes. Her other companion is a dove that is always around her.
The text is so simple, yet far from twaddly, and truly meaningful for a young child (and many adults, I’m sure). A true sign of a great piece of children’s literature is when read by an adult, not only can we enjoy reading it aloud, but we also find meaning in the message along side our children. This is one of those sweet books!
The large hardcover book has 32 thick glossy pages that will keep your children coming back for more. My kids have sat and looked at the pictures in this book over and over! Each time, they find something else beautiful about the story.
God’s Great Love for You will make a perfect Christmas gift for the child in your life.

My favorite book was I love you forever
My favorite book as a child was actually The Boxcar Children series. I was so happy that my oldest seems to share my love of the series. I’m intrigued by this book and think it would be something great to share with my girls. Thank you for the chance!
Looks like a great book! My kids love looking at books when we’re not reading them. My favorite as a child was Adventures in the Northwood series by Lois Walfrid Johnson. I was a late but strong reader and devoured novels as soon as I was able.
My favorite book as a kid was Cat in the Hat! Thanks for the chance! My daughter would love this!
I have too many childhood books that I loved but the Heidi and Little House books were read until the covers were worn. The descriptive writing made me feel that I was there. When I eventually traveled to Maienfeld, Switzerland and the Little House sites, I discovered, it was pretty close to how I imagined. 🙂
