This is what one of our maple trees looked like a few weeks back:

but November thought the trees would look better covered in MORE snow. We’ve had 3 snows by November 12 of this year … if that is any indication of the winter we will have, I think we better get to collecting our firewood!

We’ve burned a fire every day since October, and I’m starting to feel like I want fall back. The snow was lovely, but if it isn’t going to snow daily, then it should NOT be winter in November.

We spent a very cool, fall morning at the zoo with Daddy this week. Not only was the zoo empty of other people-we had the whole zoo to ourselves- but Daddy went with us for a special morning after his travels for the last several weeks.
We got a close up look at everything, and the zoo keepers invited us up to watch them feed the giraffes (one of our favorite animals at our zoo). They are trained like dogs to move when needed to take turns eating.

She is obsessed with shoes, and her new Tiny Toms for this fall are no exception.

Spokane, WA 2017
We took a spur of the moment trip to Spokane, WA. We were afraid we had missed the fall foliage, because all the online guides said peak was already over. However, we got there just in time! I think the leaves changed even more in just the few days we were there!
It was beautiful, and clean. The city was nice, the people were fantastic, and the crisp fall air was so refreshing!
The fall season there made me wish it was fall here at home. Maybe soon!

{ehum- this is a wordless wednesday post, so technically I am not supposed to have words… But I must make it known that yes, I know the picture quality is terrible, and YES, the lighting is horribly off. No my walls are not neon yellowish green, and sadly you cannot see the distressing on the newly-painted white fireplace very well in the pictures. We’ve neglected this fireplace for too long now. Ever since we installed a new fireplace from Modern Ethanol Fireplaces at the other side of the home we have rarely sat here but we can’t help it… The new one is so nice! I will share an actual post of how I did it another time. It was not without a lot of help from friends and google.}
Next on the agenda: paint the homeschool cabinet and fireplace tiles. =)
