I am so sorry we haven’t post a blog in a while. Lexie is rather obsessed with all things technology-meaning I don’t get to really use them in front of her without a fit. And during her naps I usually lay down these days.
Not only is it pooring down snow here, but we are expecting ice this afternoon. The snow is gorgeous, big snow flakes and is already covering everything. Poor Lexie won’t get to go play in it though because she is sick with a sore throat, stuffy nose, and a terrible cough. We do have a fire going and had hot oatmeal for breakfast. What a nice winter day! Lexie is pretty dang cute these days- anytime she sees water she says “splash splash!,” she counts to 8 on a regular basis, sometimes even to ten, and can say her ABCs almost all by herself. When you ask her what a color is, she always says blue. But what boggles my mind is that if you ask her to point to something say in a book she will do it; but when you ask her what that something is she just says some jibberish. Although she knows it’s a sheep, or dog or whatever … just a toddler thing I guess?
She also likes to clean up … by “likes” I mean it’s a requirement or she gets upset. It depends on the situation, but for instance, yesterday I was sewing up the hem to a shirt and she was playing in some papers. She scattered them everywhere. When I was done sewing I told her to come on, with the intention of cleaning her mess up later; she started to leave the room with me, then ran back and said “clean up, clean up!” and proceeded to pick up all the papers. She also likes to put things back “just right,” exactly as she found them. When she grabs my phone and says “no?” and I tell her to put it back, she may hurriedly put it back on the table, but then goes right back and straightens it so it’s in the same place it was when she grabbed it. haha It’s a little worrisome, but at least she isn’t a careless slob … at the ripe age of 17 months. She’s a mess … speaking of messes, when her milk cup leaks a bit on the floor, she runs and says “mess! mess!” and wipes it up. But I SWEAR I do not act like this when she makes a mess. I just say “we made a mess, let’s clean up!” And I guess she just feels the same way. =) (thankfully)

I just wrote all of that, had decided we weren’t playing in the snow, but then couldn’t resist! haha So we went out for a few minutes.. not long. But we made a snow ball, ate it, and walked all in the snow! She wore her snow suit, rain/snow boots, and a hat. I think she was pretty toasty.
Earlier this month we went to the Little Rock Zoo with some friends, and had a great time! There are pictures of that trip, her new favorite activity which is coloring, and then the ones I just took of her in the snow. =)
