Focus on the Family has a new picture book for your family- Otter B Free. Otter B Free is part of a children’s book series that teaches Biblical values; there is one focus per book. Otter B Free is going to be a wonderful addition to your summer reading stacks.
Tyndale and Focus on the Family have put together a series that is precious for family read alouds, your church library, or classroom. Otter B Free is a beautiful 32 page, full color, hardback picture book. The pages are thick, and not too glossy for those of us with glasses. And I think your family is going to enjoy this book!
In our homeschool, we focus on character traits, usually 1 per 2 months. This gives us time to really understand the value we are working on, and how to live it out. Otter B Free includes a fun rhyme, and scripture verse for children and families to learn and focus on. I love this aspect of the series and this particular book. Anytime we can talk to our children about subjects through books, we know that they are getting a carefully curated message that is directed towards children, but we cannot always ensure that message is safe and family friendly. With Focus on the Family, I can be sure this series is safe for my family.

My 6 and 8 year olds saw the book sitting on the counter after I opened it, and quickly ran off with it. My 8 year old read it aloud to her younger sister, and they immediately put it in their personal book basket. I love that the message from Otter B Free tells my kids that we are a team, we don’t argue and work against one another-that’s the freedom we find in God. Within our household, and outside of it, when we are constantly trying to be the best, or the most, we will fall short, we will fail to some extent and will not find joy.
God has given us a community of friends and loved ones whom Jesus said to love- love one another; this is the only way we can truly be free! Loving Him, walking with Jesus, and loving one another as He has us. This is the message families will find in Otter B Free, and it just may surprise you how well children can articulate this Biblical truth.
