The Simple Woman’s Daybook {2}

Outside my Window …
It is gray and snowy again.  And today it is windy.  We’ve had more snow since last week.

I am thinking…
*I wish I could nail down Ila’s optimal wake time length*  There just aren’t sleepy cues at this age.  Oh- and wonder week 14-19 IS AWFUL.

I am thankful…
For my treadmill.  Because that means I don’t have to try to find someone to keep the kids so I can go workout, I don’t have to pay a bunch of money every month for the one place in town that has child care while I workout, and I don’t have to brave the cold to get in some exercise.

In the kitchen…
It is dark and quiet; I am making the kids pizza for dinner, and a protein shake for myself.

I am wearing…
My heart rate monitor; trying to keep me motivated to eat fewer calories that I burn.  Yoga pants, a t-shirt from my daddy’s work, and my one of my husband’s long sleeve shirts over that.

I am creating…
A calorie deficit, I hope.

I am going…
To sleep so good tonight.

I am wondering…
If I will hit my goal of -2lbs a week.

I am reading…
All the same books from last week.
Honey for a Child’s Heart– a dear friend brought it over the other day and it is great.
A Mom After God’s Own Heart Devotional– a devotional to get me through these hard days of little people emotions and tantrums =)
The Power of a Positive Mom
Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids

I am hoping…
For a great week with the children.

I am looking forward to…
A trip we are taking with all of my husband’s family later in the spring/summer.  It is something we never considered doing, so it will be a change for us.

I am learning…
That I am a snacker.  I have never been a snacker, but I think about a year ago I became one.  Just mindlessly snacking on grapes, bananas ..  now I am trying to replace that with water and hot tea. *calorie deficit*

Around the house…
It is mostly picked up, quiet, dark, calm, and quiet.

I am pondering…
How things in life change so quickly.  Sometimes for the better, sometimes not.

A favorite quote for today…
“Mommy, I not cut my wittle baby fingews.  I not”- Mister on using scissors.

One of my favorite things…
Watching these tiny humans grow and learn.  I wouldn’t trade these days of chaos for anything.  =)

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Write some blog posts, continue with my food and exercise goals, start sewing a dress for Lexie, start researching for our trip in May.

A peek into my day…
Just imagine: a mama, a strong willed type A 4 year old girl, a wild bear of a two year old boy, and a sweet little Miss (4 months this week) playing, reading, learning, snuggling, eating, and being merry.  =)
