While trying to make our new house a home, I have been looking at lots of ideas for windows. You can get so many varieties of Window treatment that is can be so difficult to make a final decision.
I am obsessed with burlap (and jars … and cookbooks. But that is another post!).
While looking around on Etsy I came across these beautiful ruffle burlap curtains by SewManly1. I compared curtains and prices all over the internet, and even considered (trying to) make them myself.
But in the end I decided to go with SewManly1’s curtain.
And boy am I glad I did. I loved their curtains for one main reason: they had LOTS of ruffles!
So, I took my measurements, asked a few questions, and placed my order. All throughout the process, Amanda kept contact with me. They even custom ordered the color of burlap I wanted (it is a darker brown burlap).
When my curtains arrived- I was taken aback!

These are even more beautiful in person. The quality and craftsmanship that went into this curtain is amazing.
Most importantly, they are thick, sturdy, and the seams are strong! They also included a small hole for a support bracket to fit, just in case we needed. (And I am so glad, because it turns out- we did!). The only thing is, once you start putting up new curtains, before you know it you start to consider replacing your windows altogether! Ours are quite old now, so we are probably due some new ones. Time to start saving I think…

On their etsy “about me” page, Amanda and Luis give us a little background about them:
“While browsing Pinterest one day, I came across a ruffled burlap tree skirt that I just had to have! My husband, Luis, has an extensive background in textile work and promised me that he would make me one. I posted a picture of my finished tree skirt on Facebook and my friends all encouraged us to open shop!”
They create beautiful, well-made custom pieces; their work is not limited to curtains alone. In their shop they offer table runners, floor runners, tree skirts (my next wish list item!), stockings, and banners.
Check out their facebook page for more ideas- I saw some beautiful bed skirts on their wall!
I am excited to say that Amanda and Luis are offering all Life Is Good readers a discount on any purchase of a handmade item.
