A Light for my Path: An ABC Book Based on Psalm 119 {Apologia}: A Review

Our family was able to try and review the Apologia book, A Light for my Path: An ABC Book Based on Psalm 119  by Davis Carman, illustrated by Alice Ratterree as part of the Mosaic Review team

I have heard beyond amazing things from the homeschool community about Apologia.
I was so excited to review A Light for my Path: An ABC Book Baser on Psalm 119, because of Apologia’s unsurpassed reputation.

This book is absolutely beautiful!  My three year old has loved, loved, loved reading it.

A Light For My Path is an introduction to the English alphabet, through scripture.  Each page introduces a letter of the alphabet, has a word that describes “God’s Word, Law, Statutes, Decrees, Commands, and Precepts” beginning with that letter, and an absolutely breath taking illustration of an animal that begins with that letter (and I also think the animals sort of exhibit the word’s definition..).  It will truly help your child fall in love with the Word of God.

A Light For My Path also introduces the Hebrew alphabet.  It is found in the last part of this 80 page book, along with Psalm 119.

This book is written so parents can introduce both upper and lower case letters while being in God’s word.  It is such a gentle approach.  My three year old loves feeling the pages!  They are thick, smooth, and did I mention beautiful?!  Something Lexie discovered after reading the book a few times, the animal from the previous page appears in the background of the next page!  (I wondered how long it would taker her to see it.)  My 13 month old also enjoys the illustrations and will go get this book for us to read; he loves talking about the animals.

Your can purchase A Light For My Path for $14.00 from Apologia’s website.  I also encourage you to look around their store, because they offer wonderful, Christian, educational products!
