“I want to know Christ- yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” Philippians 3:10
Knowing Christ should be our supreme goal in life. When we know Christ, and strive to keep learning more and more about Him, He blesses us with our heart’s desires.
Being the best dressed parent on the PTA, having the cutest kid at church, driving the nicest car, or owning the biggest house isn’t going to get us any closer to Christ.
As a matter of fact, making those worldly matters goals for our lives, can bring us far from Christ.
I have learned the only way I am going to be the best wife and mama I can be, is to put Christ first. Every. Single. Day.
And some days that seems
impossible. I wake up late, forget to prep meals the night before making for a tighter routine, less time for God, the kids, everything rolls into a big ball of frustration …
But, even on the days that don’t start off great, I stop, turn on some “Jesus songs,” as Lexie affectionately calls them, and have my moment with Him.
Many of us are goal makers. We may have daily goals, weekly goals, annual goals, life goals, etc.
But if we are going to achieve any of those goals, and do them well, we are going to need to put Him first in our lives.
We have to make Him the center of our family.
Sometimes it is hard, or we are so busy we lose track of the day and forget. But we have found that if we make it a priority, something that we don’t leave the breakfast table without doing, it gets done.
And we magically have enough time left in the day for many other things. =)
How do you make knowing and learning about Christ your priority?
